There is still time to donate to the Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Disaster Relief Fund as they’ll be closing that fund on August 15. Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation Executive Director Meghan Schafer says they’ve raised over $3 million dollars in their efforts to help those negatively impacted by the spring flooding.

She says most of the funds have already been distributed.

Schafer says some of the most recent requests have been for funding to help with debris removal. She says they never anticipated they’d be able to raise as much as they were able to.

Schafer says the remaining amount will be dispensed by the end of the foundation’s fiscal year on September 30 and will be distributed on a rolling basis until 100 percent of the donated funds have been expended.
