Last week, a delegation from the Nebraska Farm Bureau visited Washington D.C. to meet with congressional delegates and staff, as well as other government officials.  Nebraska Farm Bureau president, Mark McHargue says the delegation met with Environmental Protection Agency officials to discuss the Waters of the United States and pesticide labeling.

Another area the Nebraska Farm Bureau delegation addressed while visiting our nation’s capital was the expansion of high-speed broadband internet to the rural regions.  McHargue says they met with officials overseeing the inclusion of broadband internet.  The Nebraska Farm Bureau president says they want to insure the funds allocated is directed to serving rural areas that are either under-served, or have no broadband internet at all.

McHargue says they also began conversations relating to the new farm bill, telling legislators to continue to include the crop insurance provisions.
