Nebraska Farm Bureau members are holding their annual convention in Kearney starting Monday. President Steve Nelson says they’ll be talking about farm economic challenges, many brought about by adverse weather and flooding this year.

He says trade is always important for their members. Nelson says there have been both positives and negatives with success on the recent bilateral deal with Japan but the need to pass USMCA.

Nelson says at the state level, their goal is to convince the legislature and Governor to approve significant property tax relief.

Nelson says most of their seminars are set for Monday, December 9, including one specifically looking at farm succession planning. He says their policy development, business meeting and elections will be held on Tuesday.
