Nebraska Farm Bureau Continuing To Work For Tax Reform

Nebraska legislators continue to wrestle with the issue of tax reform. The Revenue Committee failed to advance LB 670 which would have dropped the ag land valuation from 75 % of market value to 65%.   Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson says while it did not make it out of committee, they aren’t through fighting for tax reform.

Nelson says not only is tax relief needed, but reform of the entire system and dropping the ag valuation from 75 % to 65% would have helped achieve that.

Nelson says Farm Bureau will continue to work with the State Cattlemen’s Association as well as other groups in trying to find solutions to the state’s tax problems and find what’s best for taxpayers.
