Nebraska Farm Bureau members called for support of tax and regulatory reform, as well as trade agreements at their convention in Kearney this week. President Steve Nelson says on the state level they want the Governor and legislature to approve reform that broadens the state’s sales tax base and provides property tax relief.

He says at the national level, farm bureau members are calling for regulatory relief, which the new Trump Administration has promised.

Nelson says even though President Elect Trump is against the Trans Pacific Partnership, they want to work with him to achieve needed trade deals for agriculture.

Nelson says given the state of the ag economy, trade becomes even more important for the country’s farmers and ranchers.
