Legislation calling for repeal of the Estate Tax is expected to be heard in the House Ways and Means Committee next week. Nebraska Farm Bureau’s National Affairs Coordinator Jordan Dux is hoping they’ll be able to convince enough lawmakers to back the measure.

Dux says the legislation is important for farmers and ranchers who have been burdened by it and trying to pass on their operations to the next generation of producers.

Dux thinks it has a good chance of passing the House but the Senate will be a steeper climb.

Dux says the other major hurdle that may be impossible to overcome is a likely Presidential veto.
