The Nebraska Farm Bureau has announced they’ve formed a new large group Association Health Plan. The AHP is available for Nebraska Farm Bureau farmer and rancher as well as agribusiness members. Farm Bureau is partnering with Medica, a non profit health care provider out of Minneapolis that’s been in Nebraska since 2016. Medica Vice President of Individual and Family Business Geoff Bartsh says they’re goal is to provide good insurance options for Nebraska Farm Bureau members.

Medica is working with a new consortium of qualifying Nebraska Farm Bureau members on the new Nebraska Farm Bureau members Health Plan. Nebraska Farm Bureau Chief Administrator Rob Robertson says qualifying NEFB members can sign up during an October 1 to December 1, 2018 open enrollment period.

Nebraska Farm and Ranch families are facing $25,000 to $40,000 per year health insurance premiums and Robertson says with their new Association Health Plan they want to lower that significantly.

Nebraska Farm Bureau has more than 61,000 family members. For more information on the new health plan go to the Nebraska Farm Bureau website at nefb.org.
