The rising cost of health care is a major issue for Nebraska Farm Bureau members. The group’s National Affairs Coordinator Jordan Dux says they’re studying what the Senate came up with to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. He says the Senate measure needs more reforms as does whatever Congress decides upon.
He says it’s concerning the Senate measure would allow for increasing the premium most farmers pay. Dux says even the ACA has increased costs for farmers.
Dux says health insurance reform is a difficult problem and he hopes Congress comes up with a solution that will provide savings to farmers and ranchers.
Dux says the main goal of any final legislation needs to bring health care and health insurance costs down for ag producers.
