The Nebraska Ethanol Board has been working with the University of Nebraska Lincoln to help educate farmers as to how to deal with the EPA’s Spill Control and Counter Measure Rules. Those involve storage of fuels on the farm. Nebraska Ethanol Board Administrator Todd Sneller says there are many questions from fuel suppliers as well as farmer regarding these SPCC rules.
He says they began work this summer with UNL and a graduate student on the education process in order to simplify the rules.T Cut 8 Sneller Wwunl q. in taking pro active measures so….:27 Seconds
Sneller says their hope is to be able to give the farmer a series of options in dealing with the SPCC requirements.
Sneller says they’re also providing a list of options and recommendations for dealing with the SPCC rules to several farm groups in Nebraska as well as the State Department of Agriculture. He says you can also go to the Nebraska Ethanol Board website for further information.
