House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson of Minnesota says the CFAP 2 program recently rolled out will help several producers but more sectors need help, including renewable fuels. Nebraska Ethanol Board Administrator Roger Berry says the pandemic has caused a lot of damage to ethanol plants.

He says those farmers that help supply ethanol plants have also been negatively impacted by the pandemic.

Berry says during the initial stages of COVID 19 when people stopped traveling, that hurt the amount of ethanol sold at fueling stations. He says some of that business is now coming back.

Berry says they’re hoping as Congress works on the next CAREs legislation there could possibly be some funding to help ethanol producers.
