The Trump administration has promised to finish the rule making process to allow for year round use of E15. However, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts said last week he doesn’t expect the rule to be completed by Memorial Day. Nebraska Ethanol Board Administrator Sarah Caswell says she’s spoken to the Governor’s Staff and despite his recent comments says Rickett’s remains hopeful E15 will get approved in time.

She says the fuel needs to be offered year round in order to increase demand for ethanol.

Caswell says ethanol industry officials are getting concerned about the timing of the rule making process.

The regulatory process including publishing of the rule and comment period can take four to five months.
