The Nebraska Easement Action Team Board of Directors passed a resolution they’ve sent to President Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry and the Unicameral. The resolution expresses concerns over Trans Canada’s behavior and tactics in pursuing the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline. NEAT Attorney Dave Domina says the Canadian company is going after easements, and is ready to proceed with their project even if it’s turned down.
NEAT Board President Tom Genung of Hastings claims Trans Canada is misinforming landowners about how eminent domain works.
Genung says their resolution calls on the President to reject the presidential permit for the pipeline project and asks the Unicameral to rescind Trans Canada’s power of eminent domain.
He says they also want an investigation conducted into Trans Canada’s tactics.
