The Nebraska Department of Transportation has contracted with Enterprise Rideshare to bring a statewide vanpool program to the state.  Kari Ruse is the Transit Liaison Manager for the Department of Transportation and says it is a cost-efficient way for groups of people who want to carpool but do not have access to large public transportation.

Ruse says vanpools are an excellent option for evan those in rural areas.

Ruse says there could be a significant savings to those who sign up for a vanpool as they are not commuting long distances in their own vehicle and some employees may offer a pre-tax payroll deduction for mass transit.  The vanpool option is now available statewide.
