The Nebraska Department of Roads is looking for new projects after the federal transportation department released millions of dollars in unused funding.
Khalil Jaber is the state’s deputy director for engineering.
He says the new allocation must be on a federalized project and within 50-miles of the original work.
Jaber says about 20-million dollars are still set aside for current projects, but the remaining 20-million will be repurposed.
The funds must be directed to a new project by September 2019.
