Even with low unemployment, the Nebraska Department of Labor reports workers are often looking for better opportunities.

Employment and training director Stan Odenthal says many are part-time workers or under-employed.

Odenthal says the state’s employment website, NE Works, continues to be a popular tool for individuals looking for a job and businesses that are hiring.

Odenthal says getting in the database helps job-seekers.

Odenthal says the department has staff dedicated to helping businesses find qualified workers.

That includes coming up with a recruitment plan, offering interviewing space, and organizing job fairs.
