Nebraska legislators will consider whether to approve more money to expand prison capacity.
State Corrections Director Scott Frakes has proposed spending 26-Million dollars to add 160 beds to the Community Corrections Center in Lincoln. . .

Frakes has also asked the Appropriations Committee to increase operating funds by 18-Million dollars for added expenses, including programs to help inmates better prepare for their return to society. . .

Some committee members question whether the steps Frakes proposes will be enough to prevent a lawsuit over prison overcrowding.
