The state’s deer population seems to have bounced back from the 2012 drought and a deadly disease that year.
Nebraska Game and Parks reports hunting permit sales are roughly the same as last year.
Budget and fiscal administrator Patrick Cole says deer harvest numbers are going up too.
Cole says the permit sales, so far, have raised about five-and-a-half million dollars.
