The review process is beginning for the first round of Nebraska’s new County Bridge Match Program.
State bridge engineer Mark Traynowicz says they have four-million dollars available, but requests total about 22-million.

A committee of state and county representatives is rating the proposals.
Traynowicz (TRANE-uh-witz) says the first projects funded will be innovative ideas.

Traynowicz (TRANE-uh-witz) says a funding announcement will be made by mid-January.
Money for the program comes from last year’s increase in the gas tax.
