Nebraska Corn Growers Association members are working with Governor Pete Ricketts to find some solution to rising property taxes in the state. Association President Dan Wesely says they continue to talk with the Governor about possible solutions.
He says one plan Corn Growers members brought to the Governor was to raise the sales tax in order to bring property taxes down.
Wesley says one other idea that’s been talked about but no resolution reached yet was to use an internet sales tax for property tax relief.
Wesely says Corn Growers are also working with a coalition of other Nebraska Ag Groups to try and find a way to reduce property taxes.
