Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts says moves to eliminate waste and consolidate technological services will save the state more than five million dollars over the next 10 years.
Ricketts says the moves are being made by the Office of the Chief Information Officer. . .
Chief Information Officer Ed Toner says the first state agency to move computer services to the state’s centralized location was the Nebraska State Patrol. . .
Toner says the move not only improves technology within the State Patrol, but also improves the security of the data the patrol uses. 90 counties have contracted with the state to provide their IT services.
