Nebraska Congressman Adrian Smith is giving little consideration to President Obama’s last budget proposal.
The Third District Republican says a per-barrel fee on oil of more than ten-dollars would hurt too many people.
Smith says, overall, the President’s energy policy would be too costly and end up killing jobs.
Members of Congress are also looking over the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, including those from Nebraska.
Smith says several different groups ranging from pork producers to drug companies are asking him to take a closer look at certain provisions.
U-S House Speaker Paul Ryan has said, as of now, there are not enough votes to pass the trade deal.
