A Congressional race with national implications is shaping up in Nebraska.
University of Nebraska-Omaha Political Science Professor Randall Adkins says Republican Don Bacon’s challenge of Democratic incumbent Congressman Brad Ashford in the second district has already drawn considerable interest.
Bacon, former Offutt Air Force Base commander, easily won the Republican primary. Ashford, a former state senator, is serving his first term in Congress.
Adkins says the make-up of the district makes this a toss-up race.
Adkins says Ashford has charted an independent course in Congress as he promise when he won election two years ago…and Bacon has the advantage of being an outsider with military experience
