A new Nebraska Coalition seeks to safeguard the state’s natural water supplies by encouraging cooperation between natural resource districts and the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources.  General Manager of the Lower Loup Natural Resource District, Russel Callen, says the Lower Platte River Basin Coalition works by making sure all seven resource districts in Nebraska and the department use the same information….

Callan  says all involved joined the coalition voluntarily….

Callan defines “usable” water as water used for farming, wildlife needs, municipality concerns and industry. He says the coalition will act as a watchdog to ensure Nebraska’s water supply is used as efficiently as possible.
