Nebraska’s chief medical officer says too many people are obese or overweight.

Dr. Tom Williams says walking, hiking, or jogging regularly is a good way to shed some pounds.

Williams says the obesity rate for adults in the state has increase 22 percent in the past 25 years.

He says fighting obesity means fighting chronic diseases, like diabetes and high blood pressure.
