Nebraska Cattlemen Talk Markets And Taxes At Mid Year Meeting

There were several issues discussed at the Nebraska Cattlemen Association’s mid year meeting last week in Fremont. President Bill Rhea says one major issue of concern that received a lot of discussion had to do with the depressed cattle markets and what producers are getting for their product compared to the packers. He says they also talked about concerns they have with the President’s tax policies.

He says they’re still trying to gather as much information as they can from the cattle market investigations and begin formulating policy on dealing with that.

Rhea says their members want to know more about the President’s 30 by 30 initiative and how that will impact cattle operations.

The Association’s leadership will be traveling across the state this summer talking about current issues and interacting with the group’s members at various meetings.
