Nebraska lawmakers should know by the end of this week which bills will move forward with priority designations. Nebraska Cattlemen Association Vice President of Legislative Affairs Laura Field says there’s still an opportunity for Senators to pass property tax relief legislation this session.

She says they remain optimistic a bill will be passed to address the property tax problem.

Field says agriculture isn’t the only sector of the state’s economy being negatively impacted by rising property taxes.

Field says lawmakers are in the midst of a 90-day session so there’s still time for measures to pass before adjournment in early June.
