The Nebraska Cattlemen Association was pleased with Governor Pete Ricketts State of the State address.  President Brenda Masek says it aligns with their priorities including tax reform.  She says they are appreciative of the changes in 2021 that will bring $2 billion in relief to Nebraskans over the next two years and the $548 million of property tax relief.

However, she says there is more work to be done on specifically looking at property tax relief.

Masek says they welcome the $10 million of funding Ricketts will invest to expand meat processing capacity in Nebraska, and shovel-ready projects like Sustainable Beef in North Platte.

Additionally, the Governor gave high praise for the implementation of the Nebraska Rural Broadband Bridge Act. He noted that an additional thirty thousand Nebraska households will have access to high-speed broadband because of the effort.

She says Nebraska Cattlemen leadership and staff looks forward to working with the Governor to make these positive proposals a reality.
