Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts has been leading a trade mission that’s in Germany this week. He noted that Germany is a great potential market for the state’s and U.S. beef. Nebraska Cattlemen Association President Mike Drinnen says he’s pleased the Governor is showing the Germans the quality of beef that Nebraska can provide to them.

He says Nebraska is well suited to supply the non hormone treated beef the Europeans are asking for in the quota of U.S. beef they’ve agreed to accept.

Drinnen says exports to global customers are critical for Nebraska’s cattle producers so being able to supply Germany and other EU. Countries with the beef they want is a major priority for them.

Drinnen says Governor Ricketts has been doing a great job promoting Nebraska’s number one industry, agriculture and particularly it’s beef on several trade missions.
