At their Mid Year meeting last week the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association’s Political Action Committee gave their support to Republican Pete Ricketts to be the state’s next Governor. Cattlemen’s Executive Vice President Pete McClymont says Ricketts understands and agrees with much of the Association’s policies.
McClymont says the other major issue to come out of their mid year meeting was the Association deciding to oppose EPA’s proposed Waters of the U.S. rule, mainly for its expansion of regulatory powers.
McClymont says also at the Mid Year meeting, Nebraska Cattlemen decided to have a task force look at legislation the pork industry brought to the Unicameral for study regarding Packer Ownership of Livestock.
