The Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association is backing LB 106, a measure introduced by Senator Dan Watermaier to enhance livestock development projects. Cattlemen’s Legislative Director Laura Field says LB 106 came about through the work of several ag groups, county governments and others. She says the legislation does not take the power away from counties to pass zoning regulations.
Field says the measure helps operations that are zoned for ag use to expand.
Field says LB 106 is expected to be heard in the legislative government committee this week.
