The Nebraska Cattlemen Association has set their major goals for State Senators for their 2021 legislative session. Association Vice President of Government Affairs Ashley Kohls says there are four primary areas they’re looking at with the first two being modernization of the brand law and broadband access.

She says their other two focus areas includes veterinary drugs and property taxes.

Kohls says because they have a diverse membership, their take on brands is also diverse, so their policy reflects that and they’ll be hoping to get some compromise on that included in brand legislation going forward.

Kohls says as far as property taxes go, they have no specific legislation they’re backing yet but will be engaged on that issue when State Senators convene next week.
