The 2016 Nebraska legislative session is now in the books and members of the State Cattlemen’s Association are hailing the property tax relief measures that were signed into law. Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association Legislative Director Laura Field says not only where they able to get property tax relief for farmers and ranchers, they also were able to come up with a positive solution for school funding.

She’s hoping they’ll be able to build on achieving even more property tax relief next session.

Field says besides looking at property taxes, her group hopes to work with State Senators next session for meaningful overall tax reform.

Field says next year’s Unicameral session will be an interesting one with new Senators coming in to replace those who’ve been term limited. She says they’ll begin the education process as soon as possible.
