A pair of bills dealing with property tax relief are up for consideration in the Unicameral’s Appropriations Committee this afternoon. The measures are backed by the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association. Legislative Director Laura Field says it involves putting additional monies into the Property Tax Credit Cash fund.

Field says her group is also supporting a water measure that’s scheduled to come up before the appropriations committee this afternoon.

She says another measure Nebraska Cattlemen members are watching is a measure to make changes to current law related to corporate ownership of livestock. She says that will be up before the Legislature’s Agriculture Committee.

Field says her group is taking a neutral stance on that legislation.
