The Nebraska Cattlemen Association is working on and backing four pieces of legislation being heard in the Unicameral. Association Vice President of Government Affairs Ashley Kohls says there are a pair of broadband bills they want to see passed.

She says they’re also backing Senator Brandt’s Herd Share Bill which is a two part measure. Kohls says the first part helps connect consumers with producers and the second part creates an independent small meat processor grant program.

Kohls says they also want LB 252 approved which adjusts the veterinary drug distribution act.

Kohls says LB 252 gives producers a 30 day window to refill prescriptions should the veterinarian who prescribed those passes away.
