Nebraska Cattle Group Agrees With Governor On Tax Cuts

Wednesday, Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman called for State Senators to cut $ 500 million in taxes over three years. He included cuts for property taxes in his request. Nebraska Cattlemen Association’s Legislative Director Laura Field says that fits well with their priorities in achieving much needed tax relief for the state’s ranchers. She says some lawmakers have already begun the process of putting in measures calling for property tax cuts.

Field says ranchers have been under a heavy tax burden for several years and any type of reduction would be helpful.

Field says her group agrees with the Governor that the time for studying taxes is done and it’s now time to do something about them.
