Three Nebraska businesses will receive 125-Thousand dollar grants to work with local schools to promote manufacturing and IT careers.

State Economic Development director Courtney Dentlinger says the Developing Youth Talent Initiative grants raise awareness about career paths students might not be aware of. . .

Aulick Industries of Scottsbluff, Becton Dickinson of Broken Bow, and Cyclonaire of York received the grants to work with local 7th and 8th graders.

Governor Pete Ricketts says the  Developing Youth Talent Initiative raises awareness among young people that good careers can be had without going to college. . .

A tenth of the Nebraska workforce work for manufacturers. Some of the semi-skilled and skilled jobs command salaries of between 38-Thousand and 84-Thousand dollars a year.
