The Nebraska Brand Committee has decided it will no longer accept cash for payment of brand inspections beginning July 1 of 2018. Committee Executive Director Bill Bunce says the new technology they’ll roll out this July will give producers several options for payments.

He says the recent state audit advised the Brand Committee go away from accepting cash payments for inspections.

Bunce says they’re working to finalize their new technology they’ll have in place the first of this July which will allow more methods for payments.

Payment options including cash, checks, credit or debit cards will be accepted from July 1 of this year to July 1 of 2018. Starting July of 2018, then only checks, credit or debit card payments will be allowed.
