Nebraska State Senator Al Davis says the State Brand Committee needs to reconsider its decision to create a new position and rehire their former executive director. The Committee accepted the resignation of Executive Director Shawn Harvey and then hired him to be their Chief Investigator of Field Operations. Davis says a state audit of the Brand Committee under Harvey’s direction revealed several flaws and problems that need correcting.

He says the committee’s decision to rehire Harvey was inappropriate.

Davis was asked if the Unicameral should step in and investigate the situation.

Harvey will be making the same salary as Chief Investigator of Field Operations as he did as Executive Director at $107,000 annually.
