Nebraska Beef Council will review proposed beef checkoff funded projects from outside contractors when they gather next week to finalize the fiscal year budget.  Ann Marie Bosshamer serves as the executive director for the Nebraska Beef Council and says the board will look at 27 different proposals that consist of research, education, market development and promotion.  Bosshamer says the beef council will also consider a promotional campaign involving the Nebraska Cornhuskers.  The total of the proposed funding projects is nearly one million dollars.  Bosshamer says the beef council begins their work in March with their strategic planning session to make certain submitted projects fall within their guidelines.  The Nebraska Beef Council official says the board will get an update on the projection of cattle prices to budget for the expected checkoff revenue.  The Nebraska Beef Council will convene for their meeting next Monday, August 15th at the Nebraska Beef Council office in Kearney.
