Nebraska Attorney General Defends State Definition of Marriage

Nebraska’s Attorney General will be listening with great interest as the United States Supreme Court hears oral arguments on the issue of same-sex marriage even as he defends the definition in Nebraska.

Nebraska isn’t directly involved, but Attorney General Doug Peterson sees little difference in the constitutional amendments in four states before the US Supreme Court that ban same-sex marriage.

Peterson says the case boils down to a simple question.

Even as the US Supreme Court hears oral arguments, Nebraska prepares to defend its definition of marriage as one-man, one-woman before the 8th US Circuit Court of Appeals next month.
