Nebraska Allowing Continued Dicamba Use Despite Court Ruling

Despite a U.S. Circuit Court decision that vacated the registration of three dicamba products, Nebraska’s Governor and State Agriculture Director are allowing producers in their state to continue using the products. Nebraska Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson says the timing of the court decision was bad in that it hit producers who had already used dicamba.

He says his group weighed in on this issue immediately when the court ruling came down to make sure Nebraska’s producers were being treated fairly.

Nelson says it’s critical the EPA look closely at this problem and ensure producers have no problem using dicamba going forward.

Each state is taking different actions on dicamba following the court decision. South Dakota’s Agriculture Department issued a statement where it’s suspending all sales and application of dicamba products until the EPA responds to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
