The Nebraska Department of Agriculture is hosting an ag forum in Washington D.C. today and tomorrow. The purpose is to promote Nebraska agriculture and provide opportunities to discuss trade and other ag issues. Nebraska Pork Producers Association President Darin Uhler says Governor Pete Ricketts and State Ag Director Steve Wellman put the meeting together with several of our trading partners.

He says they have several meetings scheduled including those with Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue and the U.S. Trade Representative’s office.

Uhler says it’s up to the producers to try and find solutions to trade barriers and overcome recent trade unrest.

Seven Nebraska ag organizations are being represented at the forum.
