According to final results of the University of Nebraska Lincoln 2020 Farm Real Estate Report, agricultural land values in Nebraska increased by 3 percent over last year. University of Nebraska Lincoln Extension Ag Economist Jim Jansen says it was the first time they went up since 2014.
He says those features include either dryland, irrigated or grassland.
Jansen also says there was 400,000 acres of prevented plant acres in 2019, most of that corn in Nebraska. He says that had an impact on crop leases.
Jansen says the 2020 Farm Real Estate Report did not take into any of the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic so those could show up in their next report in 2021.
Ag Land values in Nebraska in 2014 peaked at $3,315 per acre.
