After months of planning, Nebraska has an Endangered Missing Advisory to help find vulnerable adults.
Nebraska State Patrol Captain Jeremy McCoy says the system is modeled on guidelines from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Jim Timm with the Nebraska Broadcasters Association says such cases are often local.
He says an advisory will not activate the Emergency Alert System that automatically sends a text message.
He says local law enforcement can contact the Nebraska State Patrol to issue an advisory.
The public can sign up to receive the alerts as well, by going tot he State Patrol’s website.
