Nebraska 4-H has selected eight members to be 2025 Outstanding Youth Volunteer Award recipients.
The purpose of the program is to recognize those members who have gone “above and beyond in their local 4-H programs” according to Nebraska 4-H.
Kole Crawford, a native of Clarks, NE, and one of this year’s award recipients, says that to him service is simply finding ways to help other people.
“Just always remember, if you help someone out there’s a good chance they’ll help you out,” Crawford said. “So just be nice to everybody help everyone out and everyone will get along and have a much better time.”
Throughout his time in 4-H, Crawford has been active in public speaking, beef and goat projects while also serving two years on the 4-H Council. His service activities include helping out at both Polk and York counties and serving as a 4-H camp counselor.
Crawford will be attending college this fall in Wyoming as an incoming freshman, and he plans to graduate with an ag business degree. In the future he hopes to return to his family operation while also working as a livestock show feed salesman.
