Nebraska State Senator Al Davis will be speaking to State Farmers Union members about property taxes at their annual convention this week in Grand Island. Davis is a member of the Revenue committee and says addressing the burden of high property tax levels and properly funding education is a difficult challenge.
He says everyone in the state is impacted by property taxes and limiting education to just that one funding source is a mistake.
Davis says there’s only two possible solutions to the problem of high property taxes. One involves either adding more money or changing the system of how children are educated.
The Convention runs Friday through Sunday in Grand Island.
