Nebraska’s State Energy Office has received $2.85 million to install 80 blender pumps across the state. Its part of the Biofuel Infrastructure Partnership program USDA announced funding for last week. Nebraska Corn Board Executive Director Kelly Brunkhorst says the program will help provide options for consumers at the pump and increase the demand for renewable fuels.
Brunkhorst says other groups partnering with the Nebraska Corn Board and State Energy Office, include the Nebraska Ethanol Board and Department of Agriculture. He says they’ll be rolling out details on the program soon.
Brunkhorst says anyone interested in submitting proposals for blender pumps or wanting to know more about the program can log onto their website or call their office.
Through this program the Nebraska state groups hope to impact the 7.7 million cars that travel throughout the state annually.
