Governor Dave Heineman has joined ag leaders to encourage Nebraskans to fill up with E 85 fuel. State Ethanol Board Administrator Todd Sneller says they’re trying to help consumers easily locate one of the state’s 86 E 85 stations through their website and new phone apps.

Nebraska Corn Board Chairman Tim Scheer of St. Paul says his group is also giving consumers fuel economy information on E 85.

There are currently 180,000 flex fuel vehicles in Nebraska, so one in ten drivers can utilize the fuel. The state has 24 operating ethanol plants that produce nearly 2 billion gallons of ethanol a year.
