The Nebraska Department of Transportation is reminding residents to keep their eyes on the road, especially while the state is experiencing snowy weather.

Operations and Maintenance Manager Roger Kalkwarf with the department says one mistake he sees drivers make is driving distracted with their cruise control ON

Billboards warning residents to watch out for snow plows have been put up across the state courtesy of the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Kalkwarf says the signs are a good reminder

Kalkwarf accidents happen when drivers don’t respect that slower speed and go too fast near a plow, slide on ice, and hit it.
