The Nebraska Legislature’s Agriculture Committee held a public hearing last week on branding in Grand Island. State Senator Al Davis of Hyannis says there was good turnout at the hearing and several suggestions made on modifying fees charged by the State Brand Committee.
He expects the Ag Committee members to sort through the testimony before making a decision on how the brand fees should be handled.
Davis says his preference is to keep the existing fee structure in place.
Davis encourages those who have concerns to make sure they let their state lawmakers know about those. He expects another hearing on the issue to be held in January when the Unicameral gets back into session.
